Can I travel on the Train with a TV in my suitcase?

I'm travelling to London from Durham next week and I'm going to be living there, I'm hoping to take my flat screen TV there with me, it's 19" wide. I'm taking 2 suitcases and was thinking if I put the TV in one suitcase alone, maybe wrapped in something to protect it, I'm wondering if that would cause it to damage even if I was careful in the way I took it there. Please if you know anything about this kind of thing let me know:) Thank you Xx
