I have a BA in PR... What can I do with my degree in this economy?

I recieved my Bachelors in Public Relations this year from a well known University in Tennessee. When I started school all the professors claimed this was an up and coming career that will be heavily needed but now the economy has taken a turn for the worst and there is absolutely no need for PR people like was promised. Others I know have been applying for Administrative Assistant Positions with their PR degree and I have done that and also Leasing consultant positions. But what are my other options? I have no idea what more to look for! All the jobs that are considered PR/ Marketing are all door to door sales (believe me, I've had more job offers than I can count for that). But I don't want sales! Tell me I didn't go and study my butt off for my bachelor's degree to go Door to door! I have had several interviews but their are so many looking for jobs it seems hopeless. I am a hard worker!!! Any ideas?
