Help for single moms durham nc 27703?

i just moved to Durham NC 27703 due to unfortunate situations. i happen to be 4 months pregnant and have a 7 month old son. what money i had i spent on things that my son and i needed to survive while staying with a friend until i find my own place. i have no transportation, and really only know the basics like i need to go to places to apply for foodstamps, housing, wic and workfirst for a check to help for now. but i know all of these things could take a very long time. ive been riding the bus like crazy these 2 days that ive been here trying to apply for things and with my son being so young and carrying him pregnant is really tiring and hard to do plus i feel its not the safest thing for him or good for him right now. i basically am just asking all my single moms that has the help that im seeking for tips and etc and directions to get started and quicker ways to get help and how long did it take. please write me at king.chai567@gmail.com look forward to hearing from you soon and thanks ion advance
