What do I do now that I graduated with a political science degree with high honors?

I graduated with a 3.45 in poli sci, and plan on going to grad school in a year. However, until then, what sort of viable jobs are out there that are more suited towards my major? I live in the Durham-Raleigh area, so there's plenty of work to be found all things considered, but where can I try to find work where they'll be attracted to my focus? I have a highly active and decorated college career, and consider myself to have very strong writing and communication skills. Unfortunately, I've mostly just done volunteer work my whole working-eligible life, and only have one small job to my credit.
